At TH Athletics Assist Project, we believe basketball should be a bridge—not a barrier.
But today, youth sports have become increasingly inaccessible. The average cost to participate in a single sport now exceeds $1,100 per child per year, with elite programs costing thousands more. Families in under-resourced communities are often left behind.
🏚️ Low-income kids play sports at up to half the rate of their wealthier peers
📉 Participation in team sports has declined 4% since 2017
🧑🏫 80% of parents believe there’s a shortage of quality coaches
⚽🏀🏈 Kids playing multiple sports has dropped 13%, as pressure to specialize early and rising costs push many away
We’re here to flip the script.
TH Athletics Assist Project is a nonprofit committed to empowering youth through basketball training, mentorship, and leadership development—especially those who cannot afford the rising costs of participation. We provide:
Affordable group training and AAU opportunities
Scholarships and subsidies for underserved families
High-quality coaching, mentorship, and mental health education
Leadership and life skills workshops to shape whole individuals, not just athletes
Whether it’s confidence built during a drill, a breakthrough conversation with a mentor, or a lesson learned in a tough game, we use basketball as a platform to prepare youth for life.
